Ensuring good care of your oral hygiene is not just for your oral health but your entire well being.
Most people don’t know it, but the health of the body is directly related to the health of the teeth. Poor oral hygiene is responsible for serious conditions such as diabetes, heart disease, cardiovascular events or respiratory diseases. Our experienced team of dental professionals want to share with you some tips to ensure you keep great oral hygiene all year long!.

How to maintain good oral hygiene?

A BASIC PRINCIPLE: BRUSHING TEETH

Then
The norm is brushing teeth just once in a day
Now
To protect the teeth, brush them twice a day for at least two minutes and then use floss. The goal is to prevent caries from settling in and removing dental plaque responsible for gum disease.
If the dental plaque is allowed to accumulate, the formation of tartar is also liable to cause serious attack on the point of attachment between the tooth and the gum. Symptoms include pain, red, swollen gums and persistent bad breath. Dentists then use a periodontal probe to assess the disease. In severe cases, there may be loss of teeth. Restoration of tissues and bones should be considered.
Good oral hygiene will also prevent you from diseases of the oral mucosa such as candidiasis (fungi), herpes, or halitosis (bad breath).

FLOSSING TO STRENGTHEN THE HEALTH OF YOUR GUMS

Then
Gum disease is caused by bacteria that stick to your teeth when you do not clean them properly.
Now
A daily proper brushing associated with flossing keeps your mouth healthy. The teeth and gums help to have a good smile and are important for carrying out simple tasks such as speaking properly and chewing food well.
We recommend that you visit your dentist frequently, so he/she will help you choose the best toothbrush and the best dental floss indicated for you.

A SAFE BET: FLUORIDE

Then
The use of toothpaste is the means of mitigating and correcting teeth cavity problem.
Now
The best prevention against cavities is the use of a fluoride toothpaste followed by a non-alcohol fluoridated mouthwash. Fluoride has the ability to fight caries and even to suppress them. Check with your municipality for fluoride content in water.
Your dentist in Las Vegas and dentist in Henderson will also be able to offer it to you in the form of a varnish or a dental sealant.

A GOOD PREVENTION TOOL: FOOD

Then
Sugary food and drink associated with bacteria to produce acid and attacks the enamel.
Now
Opt for a balanced diet to ensure proper nutrient intake for your teeth. But watch out for sugar! Prefer milk-based snacks, buttermilk, fruits, raw vegetables, yogurt and cheese. Eggs, nuts, salad and seeds are also safe. Educate your children by offering them in the same way a cheese and vegetable snack, sticks of carrots for example.Prefer the sweets at the end of meals, when the mouth is still full of saliva, because it neutralizes the sugar.
Finally,  schedule a regular exam with  a dentist near Las Vegas or dentist near Henderson  for an examination of your mouth.
